Lighting Designs has joined forces with Akrom Moisan Architects and hotel developer CSM to design the lighting for two hotels, located next to Microsoft’s headquarters on Block 1 of Esterra Park also known as the Redmond mega project.
Located in Redmond, Washington, the hotel properties will be part of Esterra Park, a 28-acre mixed-use development offering over 1,400 residential units, 1.2 million square feet of office space and a 3 acre park.
The two hotels will be Starwood properties operating under the Aloft and Element flags and will be the first Aloft and Element hotels in the Pugent Sound region. Branded as “urban cool in unexpected places,” Aloft’s concept is “a place where energy flows, personalities mingle, and opportunities abound. A place where anything can happen.”
Lighting Designs seeks to create dynamic energy within the space with modern, fresh and fun lighting emphasizing architectural elements while serving functionality for the hip and connected community. Aloft will see more an edgier, forward thinking, futuristic lighting design allowing the guest to explore the open spaces, shift perspectives and fill them with a sense of feeling cool.
Lighting Designs will take more of an organic approach for the second hotel, Element. Drawing inspiration from Mother Earth, lighting will bring an abundance of vitality and freshness, allowing the guest to relax in the open and nature-inspired spaces. Smart lighting systems and energy efficient lighting contribute to Element’s vision of eco-conscious sustainability welcoming travelers to”stay connected, feel alive and thrive while you’re away.”
Looking to open summer 2016, concept and construction are underway.
