The W Los Angeles – West Beverly Hills hotel recently completed a $25 million renovation, located one block away from UCLA and minutes away from the sunset strip and Santa Monica beaches.
Lighting Designs Inc were hired to execute the lighting design for the newly renovated suites, bar, lounge and reception areas along with hotel exterior while Dawson Design Associates led the overall design transformation.
Lighting plays a major element in the circulation of spaces and reflects the energy of Los Angeles while keeping in line with the luxurious hotel brand, owned by Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc.
Integrated customized programmed lighting systems were carefully coordinated to interface seamlessly with the décor while track and recessed fixtures highlight materials and enhance the contemporary and bold space.
W Hotel Los Angeles guests are invited to join the social scene in the Living Room Bar outfitted with an intelligent 7 color-changing LED track lighting system allowing the mood to shift as day turns into night, energizing guests as they sip on their cocktails.
As guests wonder from the entrance to the lounges and through to their rooms, public spaces are lit by a coordinated family of decorative fixtures and downlights, creating an eye-popping dramatic display and depth, used to enhance the energy circulating throughout the hallways and open spaces.
Guestrooms showcase an oasis palette of blues, greys, whites and greens reflecting the concrete jungle, illuminated by a combination of concealed and decorative lighting. The sleek design epitomizes the use of innovative LED technology to create a refined, luxurious atmosphere. The WOW Suite features an organic art ledge, warmly lit by dimmable amber lighting and captivating pendants which illuminate the bed. The fluidity felt throughout the suite reveals a beautiful play of light and maximizes energy efficiency and functionality.
The highly efficient lighting, which complies with the Californian state energy code criteria, provides a lively atmosphere throughout the W Los Angeles and is a true reflection of the glamorous Californian lifestyle.
